Things to Do in Sorrento, Italy

Sorrento is a stunning coastal town in southwestern Italy, along the famed Amalfi Coast. Nestled amongst lemon and orange groves on the rocky cliffside, Sorrento has long been considered one of the gems of the Amalfi Coast because of its beauty.

Here are the best things to do and see on a trip to Sorrento, Italy!

Marina Grande

Marina Grande is the colorful, postcard-perfect fishing village along Sorrento’s waterfront. This is the perfect place to stop for lunch and watch the boats come and go. This part of Sorrento has maintained its rustic, old-world charm and you’ll truly feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.

Try Limoncello

Sorrento is known for its limoncello, a sweet lemony liqueur. You can find it all around Sorrento, but one of the best places to go for a limoncello tasting is at Limonoro, where they have been producing it for decades. Don’t forget to buy a bottle (or two!) to bring home.

Charter a Yacht

Bellevue Sirene

This swanky hotel embodies the glitz and glamor of the Amalfi Coast. It boasts a stunning terrace with some of the best views in all of Sorrento. In the evenings, you can grab a drink on the terrace and watch the sunset over the Amalfi Coast.

Piazza Tiassa

The central square in Sorrento is Piazza Tiassa, and it’s always bustling with locals and tourists alike. If you want to do some souvenir shopping in Sorrento, this is the place to start. The nearby streets are filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Grab a gelato and just enjoy strolling around.

Day Trip to Capri

The island of Capri is a must-visit when traveling to the Amalfi Coast. It’s easy to reach Capri from Sorrento. There are multiple ferries leaving every day, and they only take about 20 minutes. Capri is the perfect day trip and should definitely be added to your Amalfi Coast itinerary.
